On this retreat, you will be guided through a series of yoga asana practices, meditation sessions, and enlightening yoga psychology workshops. You will also have the opportunity to nourish your body with healthy and delicious meals, indulge in soothing massage and spa treatments, embrace some quiet time, engage in meaningful conversations, and explore the range of facilities and activities at Samahita Retreat and what Koh Samui has to offer.

This retreat includes an 18-hour Conscious Communication & Yoga Immersion, focussing on the invaluable lessons yoga impart in the art of communication. Journey highlights include:

A sample day in the life

6.45 am onwards: Indulge in a sleep in or rise early to watch the stunning sunrise. Tea, coffee, and fruit are offered.
8.30 am – 10.00 am: Enjoy a juicy morning yoga / meditation to start the day.
10:00 am – 1.30 pm: A delicious and healthy brunch buffet with a magnificent view awaits you.
1.30 pm – 4.00 pm: Engage in personal quiet time, get a massage or spa treatment, or explore the range of facilities and activities at the retreat centre and the island of Samui.
4.00 pm – 6.00 pm: Enjoy a blissful late afternoon yoga session / workshop.
6.00 pm – 8.00 pm: A delicious and healthy dinner buffet awaits you. Enjoy your evening post dinner with some personal quiet time, get a massage or spa treatment, or explore the range of facilities and activities at the retreat centre and the island of Samui.

your teacher

As the founder of Power and Alignment® and Resting Conversation® and the teacher of teachers, Jeremy conducts teacher trainings and workshops in Europe and Asia. He is also featured on Yoga International, Omstars, Insight Timer, and major wellness and yoga magazines. Jeremy will guide you throughout the retreat.

Onsite retreat assistant: Ryan Ong. Jeremy is delighted to be joined by Ryan, fellow co-founder of Humble Warrior Yoga, who will be assisting on this retreat.

  • The retreat begins with a retreat welcome at 5.00pm on 29 Apr (check-in is at 2.00pm) and ends after brunch on 4 May (check-out is at 12.00pm).

  • If you are travelling from Singapore, flight options that include a stop in Phuket or Bangkok ensure you arrive well before 5.00pm on 29 Apr. Note that same-day direct flights arrive past this time. Do consider in your planning that Samahita Retreat is a 45-min drive from Samui International Airport.

  • Before signing up, please check if your passport if eligible for a Thai visa. If you require a visa, be sure to secure this document before the retreat.

  • Samahita Retreat is a 45-min drive from Samui International Airport. Return airport transfers can be arranged directly with the retreat centre at an additional cost.

  • Yes! We have lots of solo travellers joining us for this retreat. You will meet lots of like-minded people and make connections on this retreat! If you are opting for shared occupancy, we will be most happy to match you with a fellow retreat participant.

  • Totally! The yoga practices are catered to all fitness and knowledge levels. You will be empowered and supported to take your own variations, slow down, or take rest whenever necessary.

  • You are highly recommended to bring your own yoga mat. You can borrow a recycled yoga mat from the retreat centre for free for the duration of your stay. You also have the option to buy a yoga mat from the retreat centre’s eco-life shop.

  • Samahita Retreat serves mainly vegetarian food with fish and dairy options as well as vegan and raw dishes. Eggs are available. For those that do not take fish or eggs, there is always an alternative protein option available. Milk is available as well as home-made rice, coconut, and soya milks.

  • The retreat centre has at least 15 years of experience working with a wide variety of food requirements. If you are allergic to certain foods, please be sure to inform the kitchen/wellness staff upon arrival.

  • Complimentary filtered water is offered at Samahita Retreat.

The skill of holding space effectively is one of the most potent tools for nurturing supportive environments in diverse personal and professional settings. It is, however, rarely formally taught or explored in training programmes.

This 50-hour module is suited for anyone, regardless of whether you are a yoga teacher, who is intrigued by the art and science around holding space, examined through the perspectives of yogic wisdom, contemplative science, and psychological insights. Notably, this training appeals to yoga teachers seeking guidance to become more empowered and effective space holders, as well as to hone their authentic voice, enabling them to share their knowledge and experience with confidence and clarity.

This module can be taken as standalone Yoga Alliance CE hours or as part of the Power & Alignment® certification. More information on the full certification can be found here.

This training takes place at the picturesque Mangosteen Ayurveda & Wellness Resort, nestled amidst the lush tropical landscapes of Phuket. The resort features accommodations meticulously designed for comfort and relaxation, with interior aesthetics crafted by acclaimed Australian artist, John Underwood, renowned for his work at The J.W. Marriott in Phuket and various Four Seasons resorts.

This adult-only resort prides itself on providing a personalised experience for guests. There are breathtaking viewpoints nearby and a diverse range of activities is available, including Thai cooking class, animal towel folding, massages, detoxifying therapies, hiking, as well as local market, walking, and temple tours.

The ability to hold space is one of the most powerful tools we have as yoga teachers and yet it is rarely taught and explored in training programmes. This 50-hour module is best suited for those who have completed a 200-hour teacher training course and are seeking to tune up their teaching and feel more in alignment with the seat of the teacher.

This module is designed to help you develop your unique, authentic voice and share your teachings with clarity and confidence. It sets you on a journey to become a more empowered and effective teacher.

This module can be taken as a standalone Yoga Alliance CET or as part of the newly revised and expanded Power & Alignment® certification. More information on the full certification can be found here.

Resting Conversation® Level 2 Teacher Training is suited for anyone seeking to deepen their understanding and experience of restorative yoga. You will learn the essential knowledge and skills to create conditions for deep relaxation that help to reduce fatigue, experience ease, and function better physically, mentally, and emotionally.

For yoga practitioners, this training provides insight into the practice of Resting Conversation®. For yoga teachers, it equips them with the knowledge, skills, tools, and confidence to teach restorative yoga through the lens of an approach that has garnered international attention over the years.

Completion of Level 1 is a prerequisite for Level 2 training. Completion of Level 2 is required in order to become a certified Resting Conversation® teacher. More information on the full certification can be found here.

  • The physical, energetic, emotional, mental, and spiritual bodies as well as associated principles of working with restorative yoga

Power & Alignment® Teacher Training 50-Hour Module: The Seat of the Teacher with Jeremy Lim

The ability to hold space is one of the most powerful tools we have as yoga teachers and yet it is rarely taught and explored in training programmes. This 50-hour module is best suited for those who have completed a 200-hour teacher training course and are seeking to tune up their teaching and feel more in alignment with the seat of the teacher.

This module is designed to help you develop your unique, authentic voice and share your teachings with clarity and confidence. It sets you on a journey to become a more empowered and effective teacher.

This module can be taken as a standalone CET or as part of the newly revised and expanded Power & Alignment® certification. More information on the full certification can be found here.

CURRICULUM OVERVIEW

  • The yoga philosophy, psychological concepts, and neuroscience principles around the teaching of yoga

  • Emotional and mental health literacy and confidence building strategies for yoga teachers

  • The Power & Alignment® values and approach to teaching yoga so that teachings speak from the heart and represent who you are

  • The Power & Alignment® principles and toolkit to create a supportive and empowering practice environment that meets a variety of nervous system, emotional, and energetic states

  • Evidence-based self-care principles and tools to support your mental well-being and manage burnout

  • There will be asana practice each day of the training. Asana practices vary between short explorations and demonstrations to longer 75-90 min sessions.

Resting Conversation® Level 1 Teacher Training is suited for anyone seeking to deepen their understanding and experience of restorative yoga. You will learn the fundamental knowledge and skills to create conditions for deep relaxation that help to reduce fatigue, experience ease, and function better physically, mentally, and emotionally.

For yoga practitioners, this training provides insight into the practice of Resting Conversation®. For yoga teachers, it equips you with the knowledge, skills, tools, and confidence to begin teaching restorative yoga through the lens of an approach that has garnered international attention over the years.

Completion of Level 1 is a prerequisite for Level 2 training. Completion of Level 2 is required in order to become a certified Resting Conversation® teacher. More information on the full certification can be found here. This training can also be taken as a standalone CET.

Power & Alignment® is a hatha vinyasa yoga practice that draws from our innate strength to create a harmonious relationship with the whole being. Based on a curriculum approach, Power & Alignment® incorporates a set of essential components, including an embodied practice through specific key alignment principles. These components evoke a mindful and uplifting effect, guiding students towards a “work in.”

This Power & Alignment® workshop focuses on the specific key alignment principles that enhances our understanding of how to work with the body in backbends and twists in a way that is safe and effective.

Yin & Restorative Yoga: Same Same, But Different?

On the surface, yin and restorative yoga may seem to be two sides of the same coin. Because both practices are relatively gentler, slower paced and quieter than other dynamic styles of yoga, they are commonly misperceived to be the same and referred to interchangeably. This two-part workshop illuminates the key similarities and differences of yin and restorative yoga through short lectures and full experiential sessions. The restorative yoga segment focuses on Jeremy’s Resting Conversation®.

Power & Alignment® is a hatha vinyasa yoga practice that draws from our innate strength to create a harmonious relationship with the whole being. Resting Conversation® teaches deep relaxation and calms the nervous system. The practice builds awareness on where we hold tension and creates fuller and deeper breaths to soften the tension. This workshop focuses on the Resting Conversation® tools used to create conditions for the body and mind to experience deep relaxation as an antidote for anxiety and stress.

Resting Conversation® Masterclass, Berlin, Germany

Resting Conversation® is a practice that focuses on being more and doing less. It has roots in the psychological science of relaxation, mindfulness practices, and restorative yoga. Resting Conversation teaches deep relaxation and calms the nervous system. The practice builds awareness on where we hold tension and creates fuller and deeper breaths to soften the tension. With repeated practice, the mind and body becomes better and better at finding this deep relaxation state so that we can come back to it whenever we want or need to.

The masterclass will provide insight into why this style of yoga is beneficial to our bodies, minds, and lives. You will learn the Resting Conversation set of tools to create conditions for the body and mind to experience relaxation, get familiar with how to set up each pose that feels right for you, learn to feel signs of discomfort and how to make yourself comfortable in rest.

Excellent for stress, general tension, exhaustion, and those looking for deep relaxation. It does not matter if you are a seasoned yoga practitioner or have never tried yoga. No yoga experience is necessary. We welcome you to come home to yourself.

Saturday 27 July, 1000-1200

Considerations for Core and Wrists

The first part of the workshop focuses on how to better work from your centre as well as work with the wrists in a way that is safe and effective regards to your asana practice.

You will learn to:

  • Strengthen the core and stabilise the spine in yoga practice.

  • Identify key techniques to decrease repetitive stress in the wrists in weight-bearing postures.

  • Articulate and integrate the core areas of the body in a variety of postures.


SESSION 2:

Sunday 28 July, 1000-1200

Considerations for Hips and Legs

The second part of the workshop provides a clear and modern understanding on how to work the legs and hips in a safe and effective way that enhances your practice.

You will learn to:

  • Strengthen the legs and create greater balance in the legs, hips and torso in yoga practice.

  • Consider ways to work safely with the joints in the hips and legs.

  • Articulate and integrate the hips and legs safely in a variety of postures.
